Your life is more than a treatment plan

Think about what you would like help to change: getting through the day, feeling safer, managing substance use, returning to study, or navigating family expectations. You do not have to choose a diagnosis before asking for an assessment.

Bring the questions that matter to you. Does a proposed service understand this stage of life? How will it work with your existing clinician? What happens after a stay or course of therapy?

A practical starting point

  • Write down the main changes you have noticed and what you have already tried.
  • Decide who you would like involved, and ask the provider to explain information-sharing boundaries.
  • Compare local options and levels of care before deciding whether travel is useful.
  • Ask for an individual plan rather than a package based only on age or budget.

Private residential options

The adult-treatment section includes profiles of THE BALANCE and COGNIFUL. These are examples to investigate, not a recommendation that residential care is right for you. An enquiry is not confirmation of clinical suitability. Explore the adult comparison.
